Welcome back players, parents, grandparents, other relatives & friends! We are looking forward to a great 2010 season. The Arvada Panthers roster is complete! We have 17 returning players and 4 new players joining us: Jordan Chacon, Brandon Hodge, Colton Norton & Michael Suttmiller. Again, we are in Division 1 this year with nine other top-tier teams. Competition will be tough but I know the Panthers are up to the challenge!!!
The Arvada Panthers 2010 coaching staff will consist of myself, Coach Ron Williams, Coach Dave Parsons, Coach Jim Vigil, Coach Jose Garcia, and Coach Troy Leisenring. Kelly Floyd will continue to be the Team Manager and my wife, Carrie Crosby, as our Team Mom. We will be looking for additional volunteers to help with the Panther events, the Panther banners, game day water, Chain gang during games, etc.
Currently, thirteen of our players are participating in Patrick Wright's Speed, Strength & Agility Camp. The players are working hard…they will definitely be conditioned, in shape & ready to play. To the Panther players at the camp: "You guys are doing a great job! I am very impressed by your effort and commitment!". The players participating include Mason Carpentier, Jordan Chacon, Caden Crosby, Landon Kirk (sorry I missed naming you before), Luke Leisenring, Christopher Parsons, Jacob Vigil, Cameron Warren-Martin, Jacob White, Andrew Worthley & Jackson Zinn. Colton Norton and Brandon Hodge have joined the team at Speed Camp.
Team practices will be Monday, Wednesday & Friday 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Majestic View Park - off 72nd between Kipling and Carr Street. August 9th is the first week of team practice and it is non-contact (Helmet, mouth piece & cleats only, no pads). As needed, we will adjust practice times in the fall to utilize and accommodate shortening daylight hours. Please check your equipment from last season to make sure everything still fits and check for broken snaps, buckles, etc. The players will need black game pants (dazzle material - which is shiny), black practice pants, a red mesh practice jersey, black socks, (2) mouth pieces...one for the player to attach to his helmet and one I will keep in case the first one gets lost (any color but clear), athletic cup, shoulder pads, white helmet sized correctly, and cleats. If your son has gear that he has out-grown and you would like to pass it to another player on the team, bring it to speed camp to myself or Carrie. Every player is required to have doctor signed Medical Release to play football by the first day of practice, August 9th. So if your son has not had a physical yet, please make an appointment ASAP. They will not be able to participate in any practices until Kelly Floyd has receive their release.
